DONATION TO THORPE HALL HOSPICE
Thursday, August 07, 2008, 19:16

On the 7th August 2008 the Master-General, Frà John Baron von Hoff accompanied by Confrère Gerard Dempsey (Past Commander of Buckingham) and Consœur June Dempsey, presented a cheque for two thousand pounds to the Thorpe Hall Hospice in Peterborough.

A thousand pounds had previously been raised by Confrère & Consœur Dempsey at a ‘Hog Roast’ held in their garden, to which the Saint Lazarus Hospice Association added an additional thousand pounds from its central funds.

The donation was made in conjunction with a further thousand pounds donated by Mrs Cally Bussetil, the widow of Mr Stan Bussetil, a close friend of Confrère Dempsey, who died at Thorpe Hall. The three thousand pounds total was earmarked for the purchase of a special bed and air mattress required by the hospice.
