THE LEAGUE OF MERCY
Wednesday, June 30, 2010, 11:29

On Wednesday 30th June 2010, the Master-General, Frà John Baron Dudley von Sydow von Hoff, OStJ GCTS GCLJ GCMLJ KV CMV, representing the Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus, was invited by Sir Robert Balchin KStJ GOMLJ DL, President of the League of Mercy, and Patron of the Saint Lazarus Hospice Association, to attend a private luncheon at Guildhall, in the City of London. The luncheon was attended by Trustees of the League of Mercy and their guests.

Thereafter everyone made their way to Mansion House where an Investiture took place to honour a number of distinguished volunteers who had given extraordinary service in the community. Amongst those invited to the ceremony at Mansion House, and also representing our Order, was the Chancellor, Lieutenant Colonel Roderick Morriss TD GCLJ KMLJ DL. Acting as an Usher at the ceremony was another member of the Order, Lieutenant Colonel Michael Neville, MLJ.

The ceremony, held in the presence of the Lady Mayoress, was most impressive and after the event refreshments were offered to all those present.
