The Grand Priory of Denmark of the Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem was formed, consecrated and established on the 29th September 2012 under the jurisdiction of The Grand Council of the United Grand Priories of the Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem.
The Grand Priory is a Christian confraternity structured in Commanderies, with each Commandery covering a geographical part of Denmark.
It has its own Hospitaller programme suited for the structure of the general hospice concept in Denmark. Activities are carried out through the newly formed organisation Saint Lazarus Care Foundation (Danmark).
The hospice concept is fairly new in Denmark and thus in need of support.
The Grand Priory of Denmark is assisting established hospice organisations according to the principles laid down by the founders of the Order of Saint Lazarus in the 12th century.
